Why do the printed dental arches not have the perfect match to the shade guide immediately after curing?

For technical reasons, the final shade of printed denture teeth is achieved after a few days curing is complete. This is the case with all printed materials and can be attributed to the photoinitiators contained in the resin. These photoinitiators react during the curing process and, in the case of VITA VIONIC DENT RESIN, leave behind a yellow tint. This yellow tint fades over time. Within the first few days after curing, the yellow tint will decrease significantly until the final shade is ultimately achieved.

What devices have been validated for use with VITA VIONIC DENT RESIN?

VITA VIONIC DENT RESIN is compatible with a wide range of commonly used printers and post-curing units. A current list of successfully validated devices can be found on the product page under the "System compatibility" tab.

How can I speed up the process of achieving the optimum match to the VITA shade guide?

The photoinitiators in the resin react in the post-curing units during the curing process, and in the case of VITA VIONIC DENT RESIN, leave behind a yellow tint. This yellow tint will disappear on its own within a few days after curing. However, this process can also be accelerated artificially. This is especially true for lighter shades (0M3, A1 and B1), where the shade match can be visibly achieved faster due to the acceleration of the color drift.

Here, VITA recommends:

After the final polish, place the printed dentures under an LED lamp with a blue light for approx. three hours (wavelength 450-480 nm).

The following device can be used as example:

Due to the technology used, all printed materials cannot achieve the final shade immediately after curing. This recommendation from VITA offers users a way of accelerating color drift. Blue light treatment is optional and is not a necessary step in the workflow.

How many dental arches can I print with 500 g of VITA VIONIC DENT RESIN?

Approx. 50 dental arches (14 pc.) can be printed from a bottle of VITA VIONIC DENT RESIN.

The actual number of printed objects that can be produced using 500 g of resin depends on several factors, such as the number of support structures, whether the resin is stored in the print tray or whether material is lost when it drips off.
