Bad Säckingen wooden bridge

One of the landmarks of Bad Säckingen is the wooden bridge that connects the city with Stein in Switzerland. It is the longest covered wooden bridge in Europe and belongs to the list of cultural assets of national importance in the Swiss canton of Aargau. Along the banks of the Rhine is a hiking and cycling path leading along the Upper Rhine to Schaffhausen and downstream to Basel.

"The waterfront is beautiful in all seasons, which is why I like to go walking there."

The crossing of the Rhine to the Swiss bank was of great significance at an earlier time. The wooden bridge with a length of over 200 meters, celebrated its 400-year anniversary in 1973.
